The Mammotion Range

The Luba models are very similar, just suited for different sizes of properties.

Better cut quality than a ride-on

The small, fast blades on a robot mower cut the grass more cleanly than most ride-ons.  Luba also cuts in perfectly straight lines, achieving a finish like that on a golf green.

Perfect for large, steep properties

You can replace the ride-on with a Luba, as it is capable of managing large, steep properties.

The grass is greener

Regular mulching mows by a robot with adjustable cutting angles will transform the health of your lawn.  After a few months, the lawn will be highlight of your property.

How does a robot mower improve grass health?

  1. Luba can be programmed to cut the grass from different angles and the very sharp, fine blades make for a clean cut.  Grass relies on sunlight to grow and traditional mowers usually flatten the grass while mowing.  This blocks sunlight to up to 50% of the leaf and makes the grass look sick.
  2. Regular cutting means that the mower can leave the clippings on the ground, however they are small enough to compost in a matter of days.  This is the equivalent to fertilizing your lawn daily!

What is the difference between wireless and RTK?

Most robot mowers require a perimeter wire laid around the edge of the lawn to identify where to mow.  This is the main reason why robot mowers aren’t currently widely used in NZ as installation is difficult and the wires often get cut by the mower itself.  As the robots don’t know where they are, they randomly navigate within the perimeter wire.

RTK mowers know where they are and are set up by driving the mower around the edge of the lawn with a remote control.  This allows them to cut in straight lines and you can control exactly when and how it mows.

Safety

Our robot mowers are safe for use around families and pets.  A guard surrounds the blade, and when the mower is lifted the blades automatically stop.

The blades also have a safety mechanism (it would still hurt, however is very unlikely to cause serious injury).

How often will the robot cut?

It is seasonal, however in winter we recommend each area is cut weekly.  If you have a summer grass, you may need to schedule daily mows during peak growing seasons.

Can it cut kikuyu?

Yes! Luba’s double blade system makes it ideal for cutting tough grasses.

Can robot mowers cut on slopes?

Most robot mowers struggle on slopes, however the Luba uses an AWD system that provides incredible traction.

Does it cut long grass?

Robot mowers usually struggle, however Luba is pretty good in long-ish grass.  It is best if you cut the grass before installing with a catcher and then schedule regular mows.

Does it mulch the grass?

Robot blades are very fine compared with ride-ons/push mowers.  When cutting regularly, they only leave tiny clippings which compost in a matters of hours.

What service and consumables are required?

We are able to service your mower for you if required.  They don’t require oils, fluids or air filters, so it is generally done on a needs basis.  It is recommended to service it after 18 months for a full check up while in the warranty period.

You will need to replace the blades every couple of months, however this is very easy to do with a Phillips screwdriver or drill.

If you mow long grass you may need to clear the clippings from the underside of the mower occasionally.  This is more likely if you cut long grass in wet conditions and regular mowing reduces the frequency of this.

What about sticks on the grass?

Having the odd stick here or there is unlikely to hurt the mower, however it is best practice to pick them up if it’s mowing under trees.
