How to create a channel
Getting your robot mower to navigate between separate lawn areas doesn't have to be complicated. With the channel mapping feature on your Robomate robot mower, you can create a custom travel path that allows your mower to move seamlessly between mowing zones — without cutting along the way.
Step-by-Step: How to Create a Channel for Your Robot Mower
1. Open the Mammotion App and Connect
Start by opening the Mammotion app on your smartphone and connecting to your robot mower. Tap on the picture of your mower to access the settings and navigation menu.
2. Select 'Create' and Then 'Channel'
From the menu, tap Create and then select Channel. This will begin the channel setup process, allowing you to define a custom travel path for your mower.
3. Position Your Robot Mower at the Starting Point
Physically place your robot mower at the beginning of the route you want to map — for example, the edge of your front lawn where a driveway begins. Once in position, tap Start Mapping Channel in the app.
4. Manually Drive the Route Using Joystick Controls
Use the app's joystick controls to manually drive the mower along the exact path you want it to follow. This gives you full control over the route, so you can navigate around garden beds, pavers, fences, or any other obstacles along the way.
5. Save the Channel
Continue mapping until you reach the endpoint of your channel — typically the edge of your second mowing zone. The app will notify you when the mapping is complete and prompt you to save the channel.
You're All Set!
Once saved, your robot mower will automatically use this channel to travel between mowing areas without mowing, keeping your pathways, driveways, and garden edges clean and tidy. No stray mow lines, no manual intervention — just seamless zone-to-zone navigation.
