Thoughts.

The D10 Plus is an effective navigating robot that gets the job done at an extremely competitive price. One of the most powerful things about this robot is the number of quality robotic features you get for its price. The suction power of 4,000pa, quick-mapping, object avoidance, aesthetic design, auto-empty capabilities and 3D mapping are all features you’d expect to be paying a lot more..

What we loved.

Dreame have managed to keep up with leading robotic brands like Roborock and Xaiomi with relative ease. It’s managed to bring out the premium features on its entry-level robot – which is not something that can be said for every brand.

For example, the navigation is superb on Dreame robots. The D10 Plus uses LiDAR and is smart at segmenting the room. Other entry-level robots use random gyroscopic navigation which means the cleaning is pretty inefficient (they just randomly bump around the room cleaning whatever is in front of it). The movements on the D10 Plus are precise and when it comes to walls and skirting boards the robot is very gentle. The D10 Plus uses a feature called ‘Quick Mapping’ which is dedicated to creating a floor plan on the robot’s first run. It is impressive to watch the robot drive in and out of rooms and navigate the lay of the land and then leave.

The obstacle avoidance on the D10 Plus is impressive. The two lasers on the front of the robot gives it enhanced “vision” which means it can build a 3D environment. Dreame state that most household objects, such as slippers and dustbins, are avoided earlier – which means you don’t really have to “robot-proof” your house quite as much as you need to on other robots.

A unique feature for the Dreame brand (which is actually so useful) is the self-cleaning hair comb on the main brush module of the robot. This helps cut through any hair build-up that robots are generally prone to.

Things to consider.

As always, it’s good to speak to the limitation of all the robots so you actually know what you’re buying. When it comes to mopping, the D10 Plus uses a static mop to clean the hard floor, unlike some premium robots. There is no increased pressure or force on the mop which makes the mopping capabilities slightly subservient to more premium robots .

The D10 Plus doesn’t have carpet detection technology. This just means if the mopping attachment is on, the D10 Plus won’t recognise if it’s driving on carpet and potentially take the mop over a carpeted area. The easy way around this however, is simply through using “no-mop” zones in the app.

Who should use this robot.

It goes without saying that the navigation is excellent on Dreame robots. If you're looking for a durable, full-featured, quality product at a reasonable RRP, then you won't be disappointed with this robot.

It started well, until our first unit continuously caused issues and eventually haemorrhaged itself after about 3 months. To robomates credit, their service was great in replacing the unit. Unfortunately the second unit is just as bad as the first and we spend more time dealing with it’s issues than we ever did vacuuming.I eventually ran out of patience with it and asked for it to be refunded. The response was that the trial had expired and they were unable to take it back, which is not true and we had every right to request a refund, but i couldn’t be bothered arguing it.That was months ago, and it’s just thrown another tanty with numerous errors that wont clear, so hence the review. I hate this thing with a passion, and we normally vacuum ourselves as it’s not worth the frustration and time of the robot. Save yourself the time and money … just do the vacuuming yourself.

Mammotion Luba 5000 AWD RTK Robotic Lawnmower from RobomateReceived Luba last Thursday. Friday night I unpacked it, assembled the RTK and put it on the roof.I then applied a ceramic coating to Luba (Carpro C Quartz Sic, Same stuff I have on my Tesla, great UV protection and so easy to clean, safe on all types of plastic)Saturday morning put Luba in his dock and went through the binding, wifi connection and firmware update. All worked flawlessly.Then set my charging area and the drove Luba about 30 metres down my drive to my front lawn and mapped it, created a pathway back to the docking station and then asked it to mow.It worked , gain flawlessly.I then added the two lawns on the side of the road and created pathways between them and a pathway back to my main lawn.I changed the with of the tracking so my wheel marks would be the same and have got this nearly right.I sent Luba out the mow the 3 separate areas and you can see the results in the videos. 90 degree cross hatch, looks amazing40mm cut height.On Monday I sent luba out again and set a 45 degree offset, wow looked great as you can see. Luba never missed a beat and completed the areas perfectly.Tried to map a very thin area about 15m long by about 2m wide hard against my house under some young ribbon woods but Luba lost signal and couldn’t map it.Grass struggles to grow there so Im just going to put in a gravel path with some pavers, so no problem.I still have some small areas of lawn around the clothes line and vegetables garden that I am renovating and will map them once done.What an awesome mower, so easy too set up and makes and amazing job of the lawn.If you thinking, is this right for me?, talk to the Robomate team they have been amazing, great communication and very helpful.Cant recommend them highly enough.CheersMontry

I purchased a roborock 7 plus about 10 months ago after researching and reading reviews.My recommendation is DONT BUY IT! It has no sensor in the dust bin so I have to supervise it to empty it every 20 minutes despite having a dock which is meant to fulfill this role.I spend more time cleaning the robot to remove dust and debri than it would take to manually vacuum.A huge disappointment and waste of money. It cost $1300 plus!. The top of the range at that time.

I purchased the roborock s6 maxv a while ago through there online store. They said they didn’t have any stock and could give me the roborock s7 (standard model) for the same price. I wanted all the fancy bells and whistles, object avoidance, dual camera, lidar etc which aren’t in the s7 so I said sorry no. The person hunted down probably the last s6 maxv in New Zealand and made me a very happy customer. I wouldn’t expect this to happen every time an item was basically out of stock. But it goes to show the amount of effort they put into ensuring there customers are happy, they communicate very well. The story gets even better, after 6 months, I finally put the box in the bin. And noticed a package taped to the side. There was some robomate socks. So due to my own stupidity, robomate managed to make me a happy customer 6 months later with no purchase. Ten days AFTER I received the item, Robomate dropped the price of the item over 200 bucks in order to match a competitors price.
