How to set up the Roborock S7 auto-empty dock

The Australian and New Zealand version of the Roborock S7 Plus auto-empty station can be run with disposable bags, or with a bagless system similar to a cyclone stick vacuum.

It can seem a little confusing at first.  Once you know that you can either insert the bag holder, or the cyclone bagless system things will make a lot more sense.

Watch the video below for more info to help you get started.

  1. Thank you for this viedo
It is very helpful I was wondering if you could clarify that I can use the dust bag or use the unit as bagless?
    Thank you

    1. Hi Zahra

Glad to hear you found this video helpful! Yes, confirming that you can use the unit with the dust-bag OR bagless. You use the plastic dust-bag holder to fasten the dust-bag into the cylinder OR simply use the cyclone for the bagless version.

      Hope that answers your question!

  2. Very helpful thanks Louisa. The official instructions were lacking in this area. I was a little bit confused too! Why might you you use bag vs bagless?

    1. The bag is obviously a bit tidier as it seals itself automatically when you take it out, however the bagless option is one less ‘consumable’ to replace so it saves money and a bit more environmentally friendly.

    2. Using a bag reduces any dust escaping when you empty it, as the bags are auto-sealing when removing them. This is particularly helpful for people with asthma/dust allergies, or that just like the extra convenience. Bagless is cheaper and more environmentally friendly. 🙂

  3. I’m considering one of these vacuums and am wondering if used bagless does the filter unit require replacing more often than if bags are used? If so, how much more often?

    1. That’s a good question, but in this case I don’t believe it will make any difference whether you use the bag or not as the filter comes before that stage in the emptying process. 🙂
